Umbria, the very heart of Italy, is little known to many visitors. Our trip begins with transfers from Rome directly to our villa in the hills of central Umbria. From the villa, offering a stunning pool and gorgeous rooms with private baths, we share several easy day trips to cities, towns, and wineries across the region. Travel across these provinces is typically accomplished in less than an hour and a half, giving guests easy days among some of the most gorgeous scenery in Italy. From the spiritual village of Assisi to an island fortress on the shores of a gorgeous lake, the little-known corners of Umbria present opportunities for incredible meals, fabulous wines, and quiet, tranquil nights. Le Marche is a hidden province of Italy. While in Le Marche, we have selected two gorgeous four-star hotels, one in Ascoli Piceno and the other in Urbino, both located in the city centers for easy access. Both properties provide exceptional service and accommodation. From truffles to artisan-made pastas, the local producers offer bounty beyond expectation. Our days in Le Marche, one of the most lyrically beautiful areas of Italy, combines all that makes Italy so famous: food, wine, and history.
Itinerary

- Day One: Arrival at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport for meet-and-greet by Private Italy Tours staff and transfer directly to Umbria villa.
- Day Two: Cortona with private guide.
- Day Three: Assisi with private guide.
- Day Four: Gubbio with private guide.
- Day Five: Lake Trasimeno, Passignano sul Trasimeno and Castiglione del Lago with private guide.
- Day Six: Foligno and Spoleto with private guide.
- Day Seven: Deruta ceramic workshop and Montefalco.
- Day Eight: Transfer from the villa in Umbria to four-star hotel in Ascoli Piceno, southern Le Marche province. Walking orientation to the city followed by group dinner in local restaurant.
- Day Nine: Private guided tour of Ascoli Piceno followed by olive oil tasting and lunch in local restaurant.
- Day Ten: Truffle day with local expert.
- Day Eleven: Private tour of Macerata, visit to local chocolate factory, lunch in Monastery of the Abbazzia di Fiastra.
- Day Twelve: Check out of hotel and transfer to Villa Cattani for private guided tour, lunch in Porto Novo, and transfer to four-star hotel in Urbino.
- Day Thirteen: Private guided tour of Urbino with lunch in the city then open afternoon.
- Day Fourteen: Wine tasting and lunch at exceptional local winery.
- Day Fifteen: Transfer to the Marche Airport in Ancona for return flights.
